Flour milling already sustains you + your family.

You derive a deep sense of contentment from crafting homemade baked goods in your kitchen.

But even though you started this journey to grow healthier and know where your food comes from, you don’t have a relationship with your farmer.

You’re looking for soft fresh, white wheat berries perfect for pastries, waffles, non-leavened bread, and other baked goods. But you can’t find wheat berries in your area.

While it’s true that the quality of your home-milled flour is better than anything you’ve ever tried at the grocery store, you’re still missing out on the one ingredient that makes your flour the best. Because, let’s be honest, you aren’t 100% sure where your wheat berries come from.

Still, farm fresh cooking is a priority at your house because making meals with your family is more than an activity.

It’s your way of life.

As small business owners with two young farm boys,

We understand the challenge of balancing taste with nutrition + making meal prep fit into daily life.

We’re Kevin and Elizabeth, third-generation farmers producing soft white wheat perfect for homemade baked goods. We started Farm Fresh Wheat to help you live a healthier life, know where your food comes from, and enjoy new experiences with your family through baking and meal prep.

Your wheat berries come from our farm in Central Washington in a small town called Ephrata, where we run a dryland wheat and cattle operation. We’re dedicated to bringing you the best of our farm and sharing why we made the switch to farm fresh flour.

Although we’ve been farming for six years, we didn’t start out milling our own flour.

Like you, we once bought our flour from the grocery store. When we found that regular flour doesn’t have the health benefits and taste of freshly milled flour, we couldn’t go back. Our boys loved the taste and couldn’t get enough of it!

Our flour is so good that every Sunday, we cook classic breakfast staples like pancakes, waffles, and french toast with our sons. Before we milled our own flour, we hated baking— but something about taking an ingredient from its rawest form and transforming it into something tasty has become a fun and rewarding challenge in our home.

We’re always here to offer you the staples you need for farm fresh cooking.

Take a seat at our table. We’re so glad you’re here!

The Story of our Farm

Around the turn of the 20th century, Kevin’s relatives bought and began homesteading the farm, which was originally covered in sagebrush, scab rock, and bunch grass. At the time, its high elevation meant that it was impossible to irrigate the land.

After serving in the Korean War, Kevin’s grandpa and his twin brother pooled their inheritance to purchase Great Uncle Sam’s farm in a sale so notable it was featured in the newspaper.

It took vision to see what the farm could grow into. Years of determination, hard work, and sacrifice gave the brothers shrewd business sense. Then, Grandpa married Grandma and before they knew it their farm boys (Kevin’s dad and his cousins) were checking cows, driving tractors, and picking rock. It was a family affair.

Back then, Grandma and Grandpa had the idea to sustain the farm with a cow-calf operation because they primarily produced dryland wheat. It quickly became one of the largest operations in Ephrata.

When it came time to retire, Grandpa gave his portion to Kevin’s dad, who continued to grow the farm and cattle operation. As the industry started to change and the farm had fewer people, equipment, and resources, the focus turned to efficiency. That was when he made the shift from the hard red wheat that grew in the generations before him to the soft white wheat we cultivate today.

For the past six years, we’ve continued to farm the land as a family. These days, our focus is on environmental sustainability and sharing our products with you so farm fresh cooking is always a part of your daily routine.
